The Lowbrow Reader

The Lowbrow Reader is a comedy journal that was born in New York City in 2001. Our most recent issue, Lowbrow Reader #9, was published in 2014 and features a long essay about the great Gilbert Gottfried, with illustrations by Drew Friedman and Mr. Gottfried himself. The issue also includes original comedy by Rick Moranis and a lovely essay by Taylor Negron about filming Easy Money with Rodney Dangerfield. (You can buy the issue here.) Our book anthology, The Lowbrow Reader Reader, which includes writings and drawings from the first eight issues, was published in 2012 by Drag City. (You can buy the book through Drag City, Amazon, or a host of lovely small bookstores.) But when will there be a Lowbrow Reader #10? Good question! Only the future knows!
